Amouage Perfumes Contest is the contest made by Extrait in collaboration with Finmark, the Italian distributor of Amouage, the prestigious Oman perfume creator famous for the quality and creativity of its fragrances.
The contest offers to all participants the opportunity and the chance to play with imagination and win Amouage Epic for women and Amouage Epic for men, sample or 50ml bottle edition.
To participate in the contest and win Epic, follow these two simple steps:
| 1 | Visit the Amouage website and look at the video created for the Jubilation fragrance. Ask yourself "Who is the man in the video?" and write a brief story to disclose his identity and role. |
| 2 | Submit your story by compiling the online form in this web page. All fields are required and be sure to use a working e-mail address that you can check daily. Submit your story strictly by the end of December, 27th. |
Extrait will offer to the first 50 participants a couple of Epic for women and Epic for men samples. Afterwards, Christopher Chong, Art Director for Amouage, will personally judge the submissions and select a female and a male contest winners, who will respectively win a 50 ml Amouage Epic for woman and a 50 ml Amouage Epic for man.
We reserve the right to omit offensive or inappropriate contents at our complete discretion. The material collected will not be published on Amouage website.
The entry to the contest implies that all authors waive any copyright related and/or similar fees, with regard to the electronic or hard copy publication by Extrait.
Extrait’s editorial staff will process the participants' personal data in compliance with the data protection rules and for activities in pursuance of Amouage Perfumes Contest and/or to inform participants of future Extrait's initiatives. Failure to give consent to the processing of personal data will result in the exclusion from the contest. Materials received without the consent to the processing of personal data will be destroyed without further notice and the data in Extrait's database will be erased.
Personal data will not be disseminated but could be disclosed to third parties involved as partners of the contest Amouage Perfumes Contest.

Extrait had the idea of Amouage Perfumes Contest with the purposet to involve all perfume lovers and everyone else in an entertaining "web 2.0 storytelling" inspired by fragrances. This is the starting point of Extrait collaboration with Amouage through Finmark, the brand’s Italian distributor.
During the latest years, under the artistic direction of Christopher Chong, the omanian perfumes creator associated a videos set to their fragrances, taking inspiration from the tradition of Arabian Nights. A mysterious man appears in the video of Jubilation, the perfume celebrating the 25th anniversary of Amouage.
Realising how many people were curious to discover the identity and the role of the mysterious man, Christopher Chong decided to create a sequel of the story in a video for the launch of a new fragrance scheduled for 2010.
Mr. Chong is also very keen about the internet, a frequent blog participant and a convinced supporter of one to one communication. He has then accepted the invitation from Extrait by involving all readers and all internet users to develop the story, suggesting to disclose the identity of the mysterious man.
Extrait did not and will not receive any sponsorships for this contest.
Amouage Perfumes Contest is one of the initiatives by means of which Extrait aims to promote the culture and art of perfumery by creating a direct communication channel between scent creators and many fragrance lovers.
